1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register on the Services or contact us. This includes: email addresses, usernames, passwords, and display names (user-chosen pseudonyms).

Sensitive Information: We do not process sensitive information.

Payment Data: All payment data is handled and stored by Apple Inc. Privacy notice: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Application Data: We may request access to your device's camera and photo library to allow you to upload dish photos to custom playlists. We may collect device information (device ID, model, OS, IP address) and send push notifications. You may turn off permissions in your device settings.

Advertising Identifier: With your permission (obtained via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework), we may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to enable personalized advertising through Google AdMob. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS device settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Advertising Consent: For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain your consent for personalized advertising through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) upon first app launch. You can change your advertising consent settings at any time within the app under Settings → Privacy Settings. If you decline consent, we will only serve non-personalized advertising.

Approximate Location: Our advertising partners may derive approximate location information (country or region level) from your device's IP address to serve geo-relevant advertising. We do not collect precise GPS location data.

Google API: Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

We process your information to: facilitate account creation and authentication; deliver our services; respond to inquiries; send administrative information; enable user-to-user communications; deliver personalized or non-personalized advertising depending on your consent; protect our Services; identify usage trends; and protect vital interests.

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON?

EU/UK (GDPR): We rely on Consent (for personalized advertising and tracking), Performance of a Contract (for providing the Services), Legitimate Interests (usage analysis, fraud prevention, non-personalized contextual advertising), Legal Obligations, and Vital Interests.

Canada: We process your information with your express or implied consent, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We may share your data with the following third-party service providers:

We may also share your information in connection with business transfers or when other users can view your profile information within the Services.

5. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?

We are not responsible for the safety of any information you share with third parties linked to or advertising on our Services.

6. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

Website: Our website (findourfood.app) does not use analytics, marketing, or advertising cookies. A single functional cookie (ff_lang) is used to remember your language preference; no consent is required for functional cookies.

App: Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. However, we use similar tracking technologies including the Google Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS), Firebase Analytics identifiers, and Google AdMob advertising identifiers. For personalized advertising and cross-app tracking, we rely on your consent obtained through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline consent or tracking, we will only serve non-personalized advertising, which uses contextual information (such as approximate location derived from IP address) but does not track you across apps and websites.

To opt out of Google Analytics on the web, visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

Our Services offer registration via Apple Sign-In. We will receive certain profile information from Apple (email address, and — if you choose to share it — your name) and use it only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.

8. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?

Our servers are located in Germany and Belgium. Third parties (Google, Apple) may process data in the United States. We have implemented the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Our Data Processing Agreement: https://firebase.google.com/terms/data-processing-terms.

9. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep your personal information for as long as you have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need, we will delete or anonymize it.

10. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

11. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact us at support@findourfood.app if you become aware of any such collection.

12. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on your location (EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, or US states), you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time via the in-app Privacy Settings (Settings → Privacy Settings). Contact us at support@findourfood.app to exercise other rights.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

13. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track browser signals as there is no uniform industry standard. On iOS, we honor Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework — if you decline tracking, we will not access your advertising identifier and will serve only non-personalized ads.

14. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

If you are a US resident, you may have specific privacy rights. Contact us at support@findourfood.app to exercise them.
